The awe and allure of nature has always been my primary source of inspiration. In previous bodies of work, I photographed abstractions of water and flowers distinctly, which served as a means to ponder essence and time. I since began to submerge flowers in water to discover new visual delights and to steep in thoughts about transformation.

In my series Submerged, I create effervescent abstractions of botanicals using a macro lens. Some images depict flowers thriving as expressions of unabashed love, joy and compassion. Other images reveal various states of decay, suggesting an ending as a beginning. Both evoke different aspects of a whole. This framework sets a space to experience transformation as glorious and continuous.
